Former JNR Kurayoshi Line, Taikusha Station Site and Bamboo Forest Tunnel

旧国鉄倉吉線・泰久寺駅跡 竹林トンネルきゅうこくてつくらよしせん・たいきゅうじえきあと ちくりんとんねる

The abandoned right-of-way of the former Japanese National Railways Kurayoshi Line, which was discontinued on 31 March 1985. From the Taikusha station site toward the entrance of the Yamamori Tunnel, the rails and sleepers remain in place within a bamboo grove — still present nearly 40 years after the line's closure. As the bamboo has grown upward through and between the tracks, the overhead growth has formed a natural canopy over the rails, creating a distinctive space of gradual reclamation by nature. Infrastructure elements of the abandoned line — rails, sleepers, station name signs, and platform remains — survive alongside 45 to 60 years of natural weathering and erosion. The Yamamori Tunnel is the only tunnel on the former line; internal access is available only to participants in hiking tours organized by the local tourism association.
