Nagusa Megaliths and Itsukushima Shrine

名草の巨石群・厳島神社なぐさのきょせきぐん・いつくしまじんじゃ

A field of megaliths spreading behind Itsukushima Shrine in Nagusa, Ashikaga. The city's official page describes the cluster as a nationally rare example of 'onion-skin' weathering in granite, with notable features including the Osonaeishi — over 11 meters tall and more than 30 meters in circumference, traditionally used for a 'rebirth' passage — and the Benkei no Tewari-ishi (Benkei's split stone). The site combines natural wonder with iwakura-style stone worship.
