成佛寺の修正鬼会じょうぶつじのしゅじょうおにえ
D A T E2026-02-23
A spring-greeting rite of the Rokugo Manzan tradition, held in alternating years at Jobutsuji Temple in Kunisaki, Oita. Three demons — Araki (Wild Demon), Shizumeki (Calming Demon), and Saibarai-ki (Misfortune-Sweeping Demon) — appear bearing torches, striking the shoulders and backs of worshippers with the burning brands to grant freedom from illness and good harvests. It is a central transmission site of the nationally designated Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property 'Shujo Onie of the Kunisaki Peninsula'.
