Iino Takamiya Koyama Shrine

飯野高宮神山神社いいのたかみやこうやまじんじゃ

A shrine in Yamazoe-cho, Matsusaka, said to be a shikinaisha (listed in the 10th-century Engishiki). Its distinguishing feature is that the JR Kisei Main Line physically crosses the shrine precincts and approach path, creating an unusual case in which a sacred site and a modern railway share the same ground. Visitors cross at a level crossing on the way to worship; ritual life at the shrine itself continues in the ordinary manner of a shikinaisha.
